If you’ve been planning on upskilling your workforce, or even if you weren’t, now might be a better time than ever for employers with employees in Ohio.
What is TechCred?
In simple terms, TechCred provides Ohio employers with Ohio-based employees funding to upskill their teams. Employers can get reimbursed up to $2,000 per credential earned by each Ohio-based employee or new hire. The best part? Your organization can receive up to $180,000 per year.
If this feels far-fetched or inaccessible, it’s not. We’ve helped dozens of employers apply, build a training plan, and get reimbursed for training through the program.
Who Qualifies for TechCred?
Good news: almost any Ohio employer with employees in Ohio is eligible for TechCred funding. Here are the basics:
- Employers: Organizations (Companies, Non-profits and Governments of any size with operations in Ohio
- Training Attendees: Employees or prospective hires must be Ohio residents
- Credentials: Training must be industry-recognized and meet specific state criteria
One huge benefit is that you can train both your current employees and new hires.
What Types of Training Qualify?
TechCred focuses on technical and industry-recognized training. Common examples include:
- IT (including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, etc.)
- Manufacturing and maintenance
- Quality assurance and process improvement

If a credential you want isn’t listed, you can request to add it provided it meets criteria like being technology focused, able to be completed within a year and industry-recognized.
At ERC, we offer 100+ TechCred-approved courses and can guide you toward training programs that align with your organization’s needs or goals.
